The goose hunts at our location in Saskatchewan, Canada are awesome! The birds are
abundant and the limits generous. We offer goose hunts starting September 1st and we
operate through the 3rd week in October. We offer goose hunts everyday (except Sunday).
We typically goose hunt in the morning and duck hunt in the afternoon. Our goose hunts
are fast and and furious. You can expect a mixed bag with a variety of geese. Our Canada
goose hunts typically harvest Canada Geese (almost all sub-species), White Fronted Geese
(specklebelly), Ross geese, Blue geese and Snow geese. Our top-notch goose guides have
over 75 years of combined Canada goose hunting experience. Our guides identify the exact

In the morning and afternoon. Like clock work, they leave the roost and head to the fields.
Our goose guides monitor the birds travel routes and patterns. The geese in our area of
Saskatchewan do NOT sleep in. At the break of day the geese are moving. We do more than
simply find fields with geese. Our guides track and observe the birds. We identify the exact
location in the field where the geese are feeding. That is where we set up, on the "X". We
also watch how the birds are arriving. Small bunches is ideal. The last thing we want is for
the geese to all come at once. Your goose guides KNOW goose hunting. They plan carefully

we try to make every goose hunt a "slam dunk". The goose hunting in our area is dynamic.
We have a constant influx of fresh duck and geese from the north. We also have birds leaving
the area and continuing south. Spotting (scouting) is key to our success. We are professional
goose guides. And we implement certain guide lines which increase our chances for success.
We meticulously analyze every element of your goose hunt. We do everything in our power
to produce awesome goose hunting. We harvest ALOT of geese. Limits are the norm for us.
Not just because we have good numbers of ducks and geese. But because of how we do it!
The most common question we are asked is, "what is the best time to come goose hunting"?
The honest answer is that the goose hunts are always good. It is more a matter of what type
of ducks and geese are in the area at a given time. At Goose Haven Outfitters we usually set
up for big Canada's. We find they are more predictable. They come in smaller bunches and
provide better goose hunts. Lessers, Cacklers, Snows, Blues and Ross geese seem to come
all at once. We bang away for 20 minutes and now what? We do shoot alot of Snow's and
small Canada's. But we look at them as a bonus. We usually want a huntable number of big
Canada's in the field. Early to mid-September the goose hunts are primarily on our very large
resident breeding population of greater Canada's. There may be some cackler's and lesser
Canada's with some Whitefronts in the area. Mid-September to early October is when there
is probably the most birds in the area. The Snow Geese, Ross and Blues will arrive with more
species of Canada's. But it is not always the "best" goose hunting. Large flocks equal more
eyes. And there are alot of smaller Canada's around. The goose hunts in Mid to late October
will primarily produce big Canada's. Mostly Greater and Giant Canada's will be in the area.
Giant Canada geese look like 747's when they are on final approach with flaps down, gear
down and locked. There will also be some Specklebellies still in the area. Every year is a little
different. Our goose hunts are on birds that come from generally 3 points north; the Arctic,
Yukon and North-west Territiories. Of course, exactly when these geese migrate depends alot
on habitat, weather and crops. But the goose hunting is always good. Our goose hunts shoot
