Transporting firearms into Canada
A Non-resident Firearms Declaration Form is required for a cost of $25 (canadian).
To save time, we recommend you complete the form ahead of time. You will need 3
copies and the form(s) must be signed in the presence of a Customs Officer at the
port of entry. Download the form at; www.losttarget.com/firearmcanada.html or
www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca The form can also be obtained by calling 1-800-731-4000.
Saskatchewan customs can answer questions at: 1-306-975-4755 or 1-306-975-5110.
Ammunition
If you plan to supply your own shells for Canada duck hunting and goose hunting in
Saskatchewan, there is a limit to the amount of ammunition you can carry accross the border. Saskatchewan customs can provide specifics. We recommend you purchase
ammunition once in Canada. You will need your endorsed firearms declaration form
when purchasing ammunition. There are plenty of Sporting Goods stores and even a
Walmart on the way to Goose Haven Waterfowl Outfitters. But there is no guarantee
of how stocked they will be. You could also pre-order your waterfowl hunting shells
from a local sporting goods store. We will be happy to provide phone numbers and
any assistance.
