day. Like clock work, they head to the fields first thing in the morning, feed for a few hours
and head back to the roost. In the evening they head back to the fields and feed, then back
to the roost until morning. Our goose guides and spotters monitor the birds travel routes and
patterns. The geese in our area of Saskatchewan do NOT sleep in. At the break of day the
geese are moving. We do more than simply find fields with geese. Our guides track the birds
to ensure the fields will produce quality goose hunts. The last thing we want is to hunt a field
where all the birds arrive at once. We would rather hunt a field with 90 geese, if the geese
are coming in family groups of 5 to 8, vice a field with 600 geese when all 600 come at once.

At Goose Haven Outfitters our Canada goose hunting is almost always for big Canada geese.
We find they provide more predictable and quality goose hunts. We see alot of Snows, Ross,
Blue geese and the smaller Canada geese (Lesser and Cackling). But our vast experience has
shown that the white geese and smaller Canada geese seem to all come at once. They tend
to arrive in big bunches, sometimes before legal shooting time. We do harvest Snows, Ross
and Blues but we look at them as a bonus. Every once in awhile we set up strickly for white
geese. But the circumstances have to be just right. For the most part we like to have a good
huntable number of big Canada's in the field. They come in smaller bunches and the goose
